What Breast Implants Have Been Recalled?

You may have heard that certain breast implants have been recalled recently. They were recalled because of the concern of something called anaplastic large cell lymphoma, or ALCL. The recall is voluntary and asymptomatic patients with the associated implants are not currently advised to remove them due to the low risk of developing ALCL.

The link between ALCL and breast implants used for augmentation or reconstruction is not fully understood. However, it is important to be aware of this consideration as someone who has implants or is thinking about getting implants placed. Please watch our video to learn more about the implants involved in the recall.
