How Is Liposuction Done?

Posted: December 15, 2020

Liposuction as a surgical procedure is usually done under a general anesthetic and as an outpatient. In some small cases, areas can be treated just under local anesthesia with tumescent fluid. During the surgical procedure, small incisions are made to access the areas where patients want treated. The tumescent fluid is injected into the fatty tissue first, and then the fat is removed either through standard suction-assisted technology or the new ultrasonic-assisted liposuction technology that we have available at Zinsser Plastic Surgery.
